Recently I have been rethinking my choice of healer in my Terra Battle Squad. Since I started during the free Kuscah phase I went with the obvious, if not only choice and implemented Kuscah as my main healer for so long. After that Eileen has been one of my first A-Class Adventurers.

But whom of those 2 great Adventurers should one prefer?

Unfortunately there is no simple answer to that. Since the launch of the Leviathan Event, almost everyone has noticed, that there is no "Ultimate Squad" but rather that different circumstances require different formations. So that's your answer: "Both are better", only that this is highly situational.

Let's take a look of some of both Adventurers' key skills and what situations they make the biggest difference in

Kuscah[]

  • Skill icon 01 Heal, All, 30%
[Chain: Heal all allies with power 1 (cap 700).]
Kuscah is one of few adventurers to receive this skill. Even though his healing output is restricted by his B-Class (naturally lower MATK than higher classes), he will always heal everyone on the field if he is chained to an attack in any way. If you manage to chain him to two different pincer attacks, you will heal up your entire party twice. Enomously powerful against enemies with Area of Effect attacks.
  • Skill icon 02 Ally Revival, Equip
[Passive: Revive a defeated ally with 1 HP when starting a new floor.]
This won't help in Boss fights, since it only resurrects an adventurer or monster when you enter the next Battle (floor) within a stage / dungeon. But there are situations when you just can't avoid sacrificing one of your brave heroes for the party's sake in long dungeons like Chapter 20-1 or extremely hard dungeons like Leviathan Omega.
In addition you can prepare a ton of damage output with Ally Revival, by purposely letting an adventurer with Desperate Measures (like Kem) die and revive with 1 HP (Desperate Measures increases the user's ATK proportional to how close he or she is to death). That Adventurer's ATK will skyrocket. In Kem's case to over 500.
  • Heal x1.5, All, 2 Turns, 30%
This skill inceases the healing the party receives by 50%. This includes any form of healing (not just Kuscah's) and even healing sources like Regen, drain-effects and of course, best of all, Kuscah's Heal All.

Conclusion

Kuscah is a healing juggernaut. If it comes to how much he can outheal damage, he can keep up even with most of the SS-Class healers. His disadvantage is that he has no real defensive utilities beyond his crazy healing.

Eileen[]

  • Skill icon 32 Levitation, All, 100%
[Chain: All allies evade ground attacks and floor traps for 3 turns.]
This is probably one of the most situational skills of the game. While useless to "treshold helpful" in about 85% of the game it is crucial to success in the other 15%. Especially in Chapter 18, which features a massive amount of floor traps and most of all while fighting Leviathan, Levitation is more often than not the difference between winning and losing, since it completely nullifies Leviathan's powerful Maelstrom attack.
  • Skill icon 01 Healing Dance, Area (2), 30%
[Chain: Heal with power 2 (cap 700).]
Eileen's only direct healing skill (all others are based on Regen). It is aso her only one which does not require to be part of a chain to be healed. In order to replenish an adventurer's health he or she simply has to linger around Eileen while she is part of a chain. If you play smart and prepare some of your heroes with Regen for incoming damage, you can then focus on the rest of your party with Healing Dance.
  • Skill icon 89 Panacea, Area (2), 100%
[Chain: Cure allies of sleep, poison, paralysis, confusion, demoralization, petrification, icebind, and shadowbind status effects.]
Panacea is not as important in the early game, as it becomes later, since at some point, enemies begin to spam you with their status-effect-skills, like Paralyze, Demoralization or Petrification. There are also respective remedy skills for each those effects but Panacea beats them all by just combining a remedy for all status effects in just one skill.

Conclusion

It requires a more coordinated gameplay to heal efficiently with Eileen, since you have to combine the strenghts and weaknesses of direct and indirect healing. But her supportive value is unmeasured if the right circumstances are met.

Final Conclusion[]

There are games that have certain characters and if you combine those you have the ultimate team for each situation. Terra Battle is not one of those games. You will (hopefully) always have to switch around, try new compositions and even use otherwise weaker adventurers and monsters for certain situations. This includes healers like Eileen and Kuscah.

Personally I have played through almost all 30 Chapters with Kuscah and only replaced him with Eileen in Chapter 18-10 (for her Levitation) and even used both of them while fighting Leviathan Omega. So I will probably keep Kuscah as my main healer as long as he is enough to clear a dungeon.

What do you think? Which Healer(s) do you prefer and why? Let me know in the comments.
