Samatha is the 17-year-old adopted daughter of an affluent family.
She was once an orphan living on the streets, yet there was something noble in her bearing even then.
She was afflicted by disease and dying in an alleyway when a passing gentleman found and rescued her.
Illness had taken most of her memories as well as her health, but the love and affection she received eased her sense of loss and fear.
