Profile[]
Guardian Rowlow
A young visionary whose eloquence more so than his age set him apart from the pack.
He was a master at choosing the right person for the job, and made for a natural leader. When he was at the helm, everything ran like a well-oiled machine.
It didn't hurt that he was the spitting image of a revered former luminary. In fact, that was exactly what allowed him to bunny-hop over his rivals and secure a position as village chief without any former political experience.

It didn't hurt that he was the spitting image of a revered former luminary. In fact, that was exactly what allowed him to bunny-hop over his rivals and secure a position as village chief without any former political experience.
His speeches became headline events where young and old, rich and poor, adult and child alike opened their ears and hearts to his promise of a brighter future.
Not everyone welcomed his rapid rise with open arms, however. Though he led a backwater town of few citizens and even fewer resources, the old guard in the capital resented what they saw as a power play to get something for nothing.
They dispatched agents to inflame the already simmering tensions, and soon a movement had sprung up proclaiming that following such a young and inexperienced leader could only end in ruin.
An armed insurgency was the result, and he found himself on the defensive as more and more of his humble hamlet was violently wrested away.
He knew that he had to have the people on his side, so he did what he knew best: talk to them.In a speech aimed at mobilizing the populace, he laid out their future in stark but honest terms:
"Conflict is part of who we are; I cannot deny that. Am I to claim that this battle is a threat to our existence? No, I propose that it is precisely the opposite—for our bonds cannot grow stronger unless tempered in a trial by fire. It is only in the flames of adversity that a lasting union can be forged.
And so, friends, I ask you now: what will you make of this chance? Will you join hands with me in the building of this great village, or will you stand by as it is torn down around you?"
The eruption of cheers and applause took even him by surprise. He had his answer. Popular opinion turned against the insurgency, and soon they were outnumbered and outgunned.
When the leaders were at last brought to justice, he made a surprising decree: none were to suffer the death penalty, and all would be granted a degree of clemency should they make an honest effort to reintegrate into society.
The neophyte leader had learned his lesson well, and with it, took one step closer to fulfilling his destiny.

It didn't hurt that he was the spitting image of a revered former luminary. In fact, that was exactly what allowed him to bunny-hop over his rivals and secure a position as village chief without any former political experience.
Despite his amiability, he was alone for much of his youth. His mother died in childbirth, and his father left soon after. If the village hadn't banded together and raised him as one of their own, he would surely not have survived past adolescence.
He was an observant child, and what he saw often caused him to look inward. When he saw a mother praising her child for their grades, it only made him want to study more. When he suffered harassment at the hands of schoolyard bullies, it only made him want to work harder.
What amazed the adults most was how he could see past the traditional white lies that fooled the other children.
"When you beat around the bush, aren't you just abdicating your duty as a caretaker and friend? I'd rather know the painful truth now than carry on a convenient lie until it's exposed. I hide nothing from you, and I ask that you do me the same courtesy. After all, if we bare our feelings ow, there will be no room for regret later on."
In the span of just a few years, he learned more hard-knock lessons than most people do in their entire lifetimes. He had the scars to prove it, but they weren't just for show: by the time he was old enough to stand on his own two feet, he could talk the talk and walk the walk better than anyone he knew.
From the moment of his birth, he proved to be a divisive figure within the village, but both he and those who raised him knew that some part of him, however small, was a reflection of his upbringing there.Trivia[]
