Profile[]
The Beat Master
Ra'prow the lizardman treasures the ancient relic he carries. Known as Magic Melody Earmuffs, it emits pleasing bass-heavy music when he activates the device at the end of its cord. He loves to speak rapid-fire rhymes in time with its rhythm.
The Move Master
He has incorporated this rhythm into his fighting style, attacking and defending in time with the beat. It seems that the constant motion is quite exhausting, however, so he finds yoga and stretching after a hot bath to be indispensable.
The Rap Master
He's polished his footwork and strengthened his core and cardio endurance recently, allowing him to add a bold new move to his repertoire. Dubbed the Windmill, it starts with a centrifugal spin, followed by jet thrusters propelling him across the ground in a blinding whirl.
With Jennish
"Oh, looks like you have something quite precious there," said Jennish to Ra'prow one day.
"Back off, old man. You can't have it."
"I've no need for it, I assure you. These old ears can hardly hear a thing anymore. But tell me, young sir, where did you learn to rap like that?"
Jennish had not lived a long life for nothing. He knew much about the world.
He told Ra'prow that his musical earmuffs were called headphones and that the rapid-fire rhymes he spoke in time with the beat were known as rap.
"Rap, huh? Sounds kinda like my name. It's gotta be fate!"
With Schweiz
- After Chapter 7
The city of Agra never sleeps, for dawn never comes to interrupt the night's revelry. Ra'prow was sitting alone atop a rise overlooking its lights when a voice suddenly addressed him from behind.
"You. You're hiding something, aren't you?"
Schweiz emerged from the shadows. Ra'prow remained unfazed, not sparing even a backward glance.
"I can tell, you know. You have a distinctive scent. If I were to liken it to something..."
Schweiz stroked his chin thoughtfully.
"...I'd say it's reminiscent of old albums carefully stored away and forgotten."
Ra'prow shivered and swayed, head nodding slowly and deliberately. With a triumphant smile, Schweiz went on in a voice ringing with confidence.
"Bull's-eye. Of course. But you need not feel shame. I've found mortals everywhere equally transparent, for they are feeble and predictable creatures. They find it easier to go with the flow than to resist the tide. But once fallen, some things can never return to the high ground. Such is the way of the world, and--"
Ra'prow turned around at last. Sliding the earmuffs from his head, he gave Schweiz a quizzical look.
"Huh? You say something?"
"You...heard none of that?"
"Sorry, man. I was listening to this."
A bass-heavy beat leaked faintly from the earmuffs in his hand. He extended them toward Schweiz invitingly.
"Care to have a listen?"
"Um... Sure."
This marked the beginning of a friendship destined to revolutionize the music world one day.
