The Keeper
Piz'fer the lizardman is a sorcerer who counts mini-orblings among his closest friends. His bond with them manifests as a power more implacable than ice.
As a child, he fell into a pond and would have drowned if not for the mini-orblings that saved him. From that day forward he has shared his life with them.
Mini-orblings generally do not take to other species, and it is said that only those with a special genetic structure can coexist with them. Piz'fer is currently conducting research on this.
The Tamer
Although Piz'fer himself no longer remembers the day he nearly drowned, an eyewitness report records a highly interesting detail. It seems the pond, which was several meters wide, parted to either side of Piz'fer and the mini-orblings and then froze solid.
The Master
While it is not unusual for lizardfolk's bodies to contain gasbags, Piz'fer's stores liquid nitrogen, a by-product of his digestion. He thus has the innate ability to wield ice and freeze his surroundings.
With Burbaba
"Jasleen! Time to eat!"
Piz'fer's mini-orbling came soaring out of nowhere in response to his call. Burbaba cocked an eye at the lizardman.
"You do realize this one is male, right?"
Piz'fer realized for the first time that Burbaba had jumped to the wrong conclusion about the mini-orbling. He keenly felt the importance of speaking up here.
But he could feel Burbaba's mood darkening just as keenly and decided to let the matter go.
With Sayu

"Omigod, no way! Seriously?!"
Piz'fer awakened with a start at the sudden cry. He bolted upright in alarm.
It was still dark. Dawn had yet to arrive.
He turned toward the voice, rubbing his eyes sleepily. "What's wrong?"
Sayu was staring at him in fascination.
"Check it out, Piz! Your snot is, like, totally frozen!"
"Huh? Oh, this?"
Two gleaming icicles extended from his nostrils. It happened often enough that Piz'fer was well accustomed to it.
With a snort, he sent the icicles flying with impressive velocity. They flashed through the air and pierced the trunk of a nearby tree.
"Whoa, awesome! You could totally kill someone with that!"
Sayu beamed at Piz'fer with delight. It seemed she was easily amused.
"N-naw, not really," Piz'fer stammered, cheeks reddening ever so slightly.
Elated, Piz'fer would later repeat the feat for Sayu's amusement many times over. She would giggle and squeal with childish glee each time, never growing tired of it.Trivia[]
