Profile[]
Guardian Mizury
A starry-eyed youngling of a mage who criss-crossed the land in search of her inspiration with nothing more than the clothes on her back.
It all started when a particularly powerful sorceress made the evening news with her magical exploits. As soon as the bulletin ended, Mizury knew that she wanted to be just like the force of arcane nature that she saw on TV. Fire, ice, and thunder—she wanted it all.
The first step to becoming a sorceress of the ages was meeting one face-to-face, and so she set off on her odyssey the very next morning.
Unfortunately, the hastily-made decision to drop everything and pursue her dream meant that some things were forgotten along the way—including her purse and the money kept within.
Without a means to pay for public transportation, she had to resort to putting herself at the mercy of others. Her time hitchhiking exposed her to the many faces of humanity, for better or for worse.

Without a means to pay for public transportation, she had to resort to putting herself at the mercy of others. Her time hitchhiking exposed her to the many faces of humanity, for better or for worse.
As a girl traveling alone, it wasn't long after her thumb went up that someone pulled over to offer an open seat. What she didn't expect was for the driver and his friend to jump out and force her into the trunk.
The sheer shock of her ordeal meant that reality didn't hit home until after the cover slammed shut and she heard a muffled conversation filtered through the cracks in the car's creaking frame.
Did she really just get kidnapped by someone she had never met? What were these freaks planning to do with her? Her mind was racing almost as fast as the car was accelerating, with her heart trailing not far behind.
In their haste to escape from the crime scene, her captors didn't have the time to tie her up. She felt around for some way to pop the trunk, her head slamming against the cold steel as the car barreled over potholes in the road.
As her fingers brushed over what seemed to be the emergency release latch, a deafening explosion erupted nearby, and the car came to a screeching halt. Her senses had dulled from the shock, but she could tell that the trunk was getting warmer by the second. An inferno was approaching fast.
She could hear the car struggling to start amid the chaos, sparks flying but never enough to kick the engine into gear. After some exasperated yelling, the engine fell silent. She would later learn that the tires had become encased in a thick layer of ice.
Her captors must have concluded that discretion is the better part of valor, because the screams she heard came from a long distance away. They were erratic and intense, consistent with the pained cries people made when subjected to electrocution.
Finally, the trunk opened, and a blinding light poured into the small space as her eyes struggled to adjust. Teetering on the edge of consciousness, she could hardly lift her head to see the shadowy silhouette of her savior extending an arm before everything went dark.
To this day, she remains convinced that the silhouette matches the outline of the sorceress she saw on TV.

As a girl traveling alone, it wasn't long after her thumb went up that someone pulled over to offer an open seat. What she didn't expect was to fall head-over-heels in love along the way.
Conversation with the man flowed easily and freely, for he was a mage, and she had plenty to ask about the arcane arts. He became her master of magic, and she hung on his every word. Coming from an uneventful upbringing in a backwater village, she was entranced by even his most mundane stories.
As the two grew closer together, she began to forget her initial obsession of meeting with the sorceress and instead turned her attention to an infatuation more easily reciprocated—and closer to home.
Their highest highs were only matched by their lowest lows, but throughout it all she never felt more alive. In the end, they went their separate ways, each having given and taken in equal measure.
Her experience with the mage helped shape her outlook and behavior that lasted to her dying days: give everything your best shot, and always pick yourself up when you fall down.
Sometimes, two wrongs do make a right.Trivia[]
