Marilith is a huntress of souls.
She is one of the four archfiends known as the Chimeras. They were created by Animata when an unprecedented cataclysm devastated the Oxsecians' home world.One might say they were born of madness--the reckless abandon of Oxsecian scientitsts driven to desperation.
But what makes the best base for engineering new life? This became a point of debate.
The Oxsecians tested a myriad of creatures, but nothing worked well. Building on a monstrous foundation creates only monsters.The experiments drove home the reality that they were treading uncharted and complex territory.
The Oxsecians aspired to create creatures possessing an absolute, almost divine might--figuredeheads that would inspire dread even in monsters.They went on testing and eliminating options one by one...until their own kind was the only option left.
