Profile[]
Guardian Koh
A young knight given the right and responsibility to rule a small corner of the empire. Though made ruler from a young age, he is not yet old enough to have lost all vestiges of innocence.
Governance of the domain was thrust upon him by the untimely death of his predecessor; he became ruler simply by the virtue of being next in line.
His predecessor was in the good graces of the late emperor, and was given the domain to rule over as a reward for decades of loyal service.

Governance of the domain was thrust upon him by the untimely death of his predecessor; he became ruler simply by the virtue of being next in line.
His predecessor was in the good graces of the late emperor, and was given the domain to rule over as a reward for decades of loyal service.
The domain was just one of many presents given over the course of their relationship. His predecessor had also received stunning works of art, priceless treasures, and luxurious arms and armor, all of which he inherited as his own.
This favor continued from one emperor to the next, with the new emperor finding promise in the young knight and his keen insight. The knight, however, was uneasy with his predecessor's arrangement, and had a premonition that the empire would soon face trying times.
In the midst of this uncertainty, an infiltrator appeared before him with an ominous message:
"A conflict to decide the new world order will begin soon. Will you stand with us against the emperor?"
Still nursing his unease, he spoke of this with his retainers only to see them remain loyal to the emperor to the last man, calling the infiltrator's words unforgivable treason.
The decision weighed heavily on him. Loyalty, or progress? Continue years of tradition, or break free and make his own? He made his choice carefully.

The domain was just one of many presents given over the course of their relationship. His predecessor also received stunning works of art, priceless treasures, and luxurious arms and armor, all of which he inherited as his own.
He was a literal knight in shining armor, and proud of it. The sublime beauty of a sharpened blade, the immaculate sheen of a well-polished shield... He had the luxury of noticing the most minute details, and he relished the opportunity.
All was not well in the empire, however. A civil war was afoot, pitting ruling houses against each other for the prize of the emperor's throne. Even for a house with retainers as strong as his, good fortune today is no guarantee of the same tomorrow.
His retainers were experienced but aging, with one or two slowly dying off every year. Soon the empire itself would be on its deathbed.
Life in the empire had become stagnant, and the common people were hungry for change. Once the flames of rebellion were fanned, there was no putting them out.
He followed the example of his predecessor and remained loyal to the emperor, but even a generation of shared history did not put him above suspicion.
In the end, the emperor viewed him as a hindrance rather than a help, and his retainers deserted him in his time of greatest need. He went to his death never knowing if he should have chosen differently.Trivia[]
