Profile[]

The Invincible

The Invincible appears to be an airship at first glance. The skies are its natural domain. Countless propellers evidently drive it through the air, though what powers them remains unknown. Feelers sprout from its hull here and there, their tips flickering frequently and pulsing as though absorbing something. It remains shrouded in mystery, whatever it is.

The Weeping

One day, the Invincible revealed a face.

Its immense hull abruptly split open, and from within emerged gleaming red eyes, a gaping mouth, and a plump nose.

Its feelers swelled up and flailed wildly, as though clutching at something.

It trembled violently, its massive body jolting sporadically as though from convulsions. With each spasm, the surrounding air roiled with ferocious gusts of wind.

It seemed as though the creature were trying to eject an endless flood of anguish gushing up from withing.

Its eyes glistened with tears.

The Walking

As the Invincible struggled on, its feelers grew into arms and legs, complete with hands and feet. Then, at last, it abandoned flight entirely.

It deserted the skies in favor of an earthbound path from which it could gaze heavenward.

It was now a living anomaly: a walking airship.

It seemed something out of a nursery tale, a bizarre and fearsome demon that could only inhabit the wilds of the imagination.

Chapter 16

It was the faintest flicker of life, barely perceptible. It came from Pepropé.

Detecting it, the Invincible tried to take up the burden of the stoneman's pain and grief.

But Pepropé had none. He harbored no sorrow, anger, or hatred.

He departed the mortal realm free of all such suffering.

Chapter 24

The Invincible watched the swaggering alien creatures. They were clearly horrific and fearsome foes.

And the sight of them evoked a sense of déjà vu.

Trivia[]

  • Invincible (Japanese: インビンシブル Inbinshiburu)
  • Invincible was created by Yoshitaka Amano to commemorate the 1,500,000th download of the game. Unlike early Download Starter additions, it cannot be obtained from the Pact of Fellowship.
  • Version 5.5.0 changed the "Summon Point Amp" skill to "Frequency +20%, Staff".
