In Devil's Grip is the thirty-seventh chapter. It was added in Version 4.3.0 and released on August 30, 2016. It contains Graviton enemies and Dimensional rift traps. In section 10, Lizardfolk characters receive stat buffs (see below).

“Aha!
These guys have something
interesting with them!”
“Looking to collect more toys again?”
“That's how we've always gained power.
Heh, ought to teach them the right way
to do things.”
“Wh-what's that?”
“Something's falling from above!”
Two Animatas circled in the sky.
Something was detaching from their
sinister hulls to rain down like a
hailstorm.
Invisible Ciphers were crushed by
the incoming attack, and turned
into a unrecognizable clump.

“Are they allies of that sinister woman?”
“Some of them landed around here,
but most headed eastwards.”
“That's in a different direction to the city
where Pa'keppar and the others are...
But that doesn't mean we're free to go.”
“Indeed. Especially if those black things
with them were Animatas.”
“Let's chase after them!”
Just then, a crackling, scorching
barrier stretched across the sky.
“What in the world is this...?”
- [Battle here]
“Wait! Someone's coming!”
“%%&&$####”
A Spirit appeared, accompanied by Ciphers,
which, by the flowing light of the stars, and
the glittering glow of their willpower, acquired
a visible form. They were the survivors who
were allowed to live.
“What's going on?”

"What? Why are the outsiders going there?"
Although shocked that the wayfaring strangers
to be sacrificed to the enemy of their own
volition headed for a battle they were doomed
to lose, the lizard clan chief was even more
puzzled by another matter.
The place that they were heading to surprised
everyone.
"No... That woman... she couldn't be aiming
for that... Huh? Who's there?"
The whispering leader sensed a sharp gaze
drilling into his back. It was Pa'keppar.
“Chief!
How long do you plan to go on hiding here?!”

A fallen Spirit with burned wings and
molten Negas lay in front of you.
They sacrificed themselves to destroy
the barrier generator.
“Why have you done this... for us?”
No one could have known the answer.
All that remained was the path these
unexpected benefactors had given
their lives to clear for you.
---Audience room
"While we're talking here, much blood may be
getting spilled, all for our sake! Chief, how can
you be so insensitive to their suffering?"
"Thanks to their sacrifice, peace will be
brought to our lands, and we will be protected.
There is no better solution."
"You really think that?! You trust the word of
a devil who leaves death in her wake, and
want us to stand back and do nothing?"
"Would you rather send our people to certain
death? I don't understand you, Pa'keppar!"
"And these strangers who throw away their
lives for us, do they not matter to you?!"

Story
“We are not infants, dependent on
others for survival!”
Pa'keppar's vision blurred. The feelings
he failed to convey with words became
tears that fell from his eyes.
“The responsibility for protecting our
land lies with each and every one of us!”
“Wait, Pa'keppar!”
But Pa'keppar turned away and, his
beloved sword in hand, stormed out of
the audience room.
His eyes shone with an unquenchable
determination.
Pa'keppar's impassioned words kindled
the patriotic spirit of the young soldiers,
who followed after him.
“This was supposed to be a peaceful
age, with no conflict...”
The clan chief muttered, watching
Pa'keppar walk off .
“I've had enough of this... Just give
us To'toa back... Give me my peaceful
country back!”

"There's a light... No, more of a membrane
stretching across the sky! What are they doing?"
At that moment, with a swoosh, a man with
somehow unsettling eyes appeared in the air,
and then slowly descended. His feet touched
the ground, heels close together.
"They're simply drawing power from an infinite
space, where light cannot reach, filled with the
remnants of unconscious feelings...
An abyss which in our language is called shin'en.
Heh, ‘Shin'en’ would make a fine name for me."
He stretched out his right arm and shook his
wings, sending out a flurry of black feathers,
which turned into fiends.

Story
“What did you create using the Animata?”
“Create?”
“Heheh... You don't know? I will show you.”
The man cut off a cube of space and blew
into it.
Smoke began to fill it, turning from grey
to purple, and then to green.
“The life breeder hatched something
interesting...”
An awful sound, like scraping metal,
sounded. It echoed through the ground,
vibrating everything.
“Come forth into this world!”
The smoke-filled cube burst open, flesh
and mechanical parts combining into
some kind of bio-machine weapon.

The woman known as Mutoh smiles slightly.
"Your reward. I shall return this to you."
"To'toa..."
The leader saw his beloved daughter.
But To'toa didn't move.
"This isn't what we promised!
Damn it, this isn't what we promised!"
"Oh, I'm keeping the promise. We will soon
be leaving this place. I have no memory of
making any agreement concerning this girl."
"What?!"
The leader fell to his knees, and
reached out to the iced-over body
of To'toa only to be horrified by
how frozen solid she was.
“Have a nice day.”
Mutoh disappeared, a smile still
playing about her lips. The only
sound that remained was the
anguished cries of the leader.

"Now I must go. I want to get good
seats for the wonderful show!"
The man disappeared. As if pulled by
a string, the remaining feathers flew
up and drifted back to the ground.
"Where the hell did he go?"
The battle ended suddenly.
---Power Control
"What are you doing?!"
"I won't forgive her for this!"
With a blank gaze, the lizard chief fell
quiet and input a code. There stood
the energy control system that supported
the entire advanced lizard civilization.
Reacting to keystrokes so swift the eye
could not follow, the panel blinked and
flickered, responding to the leader's
anger and curses.
He was trying to activate something.
But, with the last powerful keystroke,
a shrill noise sounded and the panel
glowed red.
“No! Don't do that!”
The lizard chief never noticed that all his
actions played right into the demons' hands.
Now, the planet's power which had long been
dormant would be unleashed.
It came dancing down from the sky,
penetrated the ground and spread far and
wide, just as the demons wanted.

The ground shook with a rumble.
"What is it this time? This noise is horrific..."
The ground split, and mystical light spilled
out from the chasm.
The light resonated with the two Animatas
sailing the skies in the distance.
"I have a bad feeling about this."

Story
“So this is the power that they were hiding...”
“Time to get to work, life breeder.
Lady To'toa's pure soul will make fine
feedstock for you!”
The light shot from the ground up into
the sky and ricocheted everywhere.
As it folded back onto itself, forming a
three-dimensional shape, it was
swallowed by a black hole which opened
up in the empty sky.
Crystals with a warm glow slowly floated
down from the sky, and when they
touched the black hole, antimatter was
turned into matter.
The sight evoked a distinctly unsettling
feeling, like standing over a grave or
staring into the firing muzzle of a weapon.
“See that light over the--”
Before you could finish, you were hit by
an infernal heat wave.
“Aaaaargh!”
Some had wounds so grievous they were
unable to move at all.
The harbinger of death shook the world,
settling down right in front of the you.
Its dark aura filled those who witnessed
it with fear.
As you stopped to catch your breath,
you were just about to be assaulted by
yet another vicious heat wave when
someone called out...
“Everyone, get back!”
Hearing the voice, you jumped back and
dodged the heat beam by the smallest
of margins.
“Pa'keppar, why are you here?!”
“I will explain later. For now, we must
stop that!”
- [Battle here]
They held the funeral service for the late
To'toa solemnly. At the cenotaph erected
for those who lost their lives in the battle,
many wreaths were laid.
“What was that thing?”
“It's said to be the planet's energy.
But... It was only supposed to burn those
who meant us harm.”
“Are you saying we mean you harm?”
“No, no, of course not. They must have
tampered with it...”
“The show's over. It was quite interesting.”
“I think I captured enough. Now, let's head
back to our world.”
"What shall we do with the vessels?"
"The empty hulls? We will just leave them
here, to remain in the sky as a constant
source of terror and fear. Fine souvenirs,
don't you think?"
Their only consolation lay in the fact
that even after being toyed with by
malicious beings,Pa'keppar's group's
spirit wasn't broken.
Although the two devils plaguing their
planet are not gone for good, for now
at least the Lizardfolk can enjoy a brief
respite from terror and strife.
Pa'keppar spoke in a voice strong and
filled with resolve.
“We will pull through. We will never
give in! And one day we will reclaim
our skies!”
So what was the meaning of that encounter?
The lizard planet has a long and sordid history
of sacrificing lives and grudge-bearing, and
history likes to repeat itself.
What was it all for?
“If you find others in the same predicament
as ours, please help them like you helped us.”
The only thing that can be said with any
certainty is that in this endless universe,
there are many other tribes and Animatas
that you have not yet come across.

“Pepropé, what did they actually do?”
“They recoded life energy, combining it with
other things to create a new existence.”
“Animatas can do that?”
“Yes, and it seems we have the same power...”
“Huh?”
“What do they want from us, these Animatas?
Or is that the Creator's scheme, I wonder...”
