...wouldn't that be an uplifting story? The reality, however, was rather grim.
The angels she saw were angels of death. Haruhikari had died, but was granted a temporary respite. As her time was coming near, the remnant of her soul fading, her body too was beginning to break down.
She sensed it would soon be the end of her "life," which was just a pretty lie she so wanted to believe.
"But maybe someone will remember me as an angel..."
