Profile[]
The Idol
Bonna is a young beastwoman who is well known as a teen idol in the overworld. In fact, she reigns as the most popular of them all. She dresses bizarrely, but that's par for the course in the world of showbiz.
Bonna loves to sing and is always singing something or other to herself.
She is hopeless at writing lyrics, however. They're so bad that her fans don't even find them funny.
That she is such a good singer makes it all the more tragic.
The Lyricist
Bonna has recently developed an advanced vocal technique that allows her to sing and hum at the same time.
When performed this way, lyrics previously dubbed abysmal suddenly bloom into truly spectacular songs.
The Punk Rocker
These days, Bonna loves performing as a one-woman ska punk band. She sings through her mouth, hums guitar lines through her nose, and plays drum and bass rhythms from a device worn on her ear.
It seems the terrible lyrics from her teen idol days have blossomed through the power of punk rock.
With Gegonago
- After Chapter 30
Bonna's diabolical lyrics caught the eye of Gegonago,
a luminary in the music world.
The famous composer told Bonna that her lyrics were
perfect for the changing times and that he would
love to produce her.
The resulting Fifth Symphony, a joint work by Bonna
and Gegonago (later readapted as the Ninth Symphony),
was performed throughout the universe.
The symphony was also known by the subtitle
"From a World Reborn."
Very few understand the meaning of the lyrics
"The joy of the fate-encumbered soul" in the first
With Zeera
Bonna was enjoying early afternoon tea with Zeera.
"Your herbal tea is really good, Zeera."
Bonna said this with a dreamy expression while gently rocking her teacup back and forth.
Zeera's face lit up with a smile at her words. Seeing this through the swirling steam of her tea, Bonna lit up likewise. She felt that making others smile was what she was born to do.
"Say, Zeera, what do you think of my lyrics?" she asked suddenly.
Not expecting this, Zeera hung her head in silence for a moment as she floundered for an answer. She regretted it immediately.
A shadow passed over Bonna's face.
"I knew they were awful," she muttered, her teacup swaying. Then came the tears.
Bonna was universally admired and adored. She was blessed with a stunning face and figure, plus talent in spades. She took obvious pride in this, too.
She reigned supreme in the teen idol world, and she knew it.
But being slapped with the label "abysmal lyrical sense" had crushed that confidence.
"Maybe I should quit," she said dejectedly.
Anger flared in Zeera. "If you're afraid to stand at the top, don't climb the mountain," she snapped.
Bonna was a natural, no question. To throw it all away because of a single setback seemed the ultimate insult to everyone struggling to follow in her footsteps.
She was the most successful of her peers by far--a queen amongst them. So why not exhibit that power by bringing her challengers to their knees?
Bonna was grateful for Zeera's insight. She resolved to remain a queen.
With Zafitte
Zafitte once spoke about Bonna, a girl she had trained with back at the teen idol camps.
She related how the talented Bonna was well liked and excelled at just about everything.
Then she said she'd hated how Bonna wasn't the least bit conceited despite being so good at everything.
It turns out it was none other than Zafitte who turned the spotlight on Bonna's atrocious lyrical sense.
It was probably just a childish impulse, but once she discovered Bonna's sole weakness, she jumped at the chance to exploit it. She convinced Bonna to improvise her lyrics onstage.
Needless to say, the results were not pretty. An awkward hush fell over the audience at Bonna's bizarre improvisation, which sounded akin to a demon summoning.
But in the audience that night was a famous composer who would go on to collaborate with her on some of the greatest songs in the history of music.
Bonna says that it was all a matter of fate.
Bonna and Zafitte have since settled their differences and now stand together as the two reigning divas of the showbiz world.
