Bahamut Descended

Bahamut Descended is a quest available through [Arena] > [Descent Quests]. It features the S-class dragon mage Bahamut as a recruitable boss. It was first made available as a limited-time event from October 24-26, 2014.

Clusters of glowing crystals sprout seemingly everywhere, bathing your surroundings in a phantasmal light.

"Aye, they're tinged with magic. Actually, no. It isn't magic, but rather..."

In your quest for the Maker, it seems you've ended up in the most arcane and unexpected place.

It is the palace of the magnificent and mighty beast who supports the world itself.

A voiceless voice resonates in your heads.

"So, you seek the Maker."

The voiceless voice goes on.

"Regrettably for you, there is no Maker here."

"Whither are ye bound and what is it that ye seek?"

The lordly beast seems to be testing you.

Your party answers as one:

"We seek the Maker."

"We are the pillars entrusted with the fate of the world--emissaries of the Maker, as it were. I am called Bahamut."

With power that surpasses even mine own, ye may well reach the Maker, Bahamut says.

Whether what awaits beyond is truly what ye seek remains to be seen, however.

The fate of all life on this hinges on the answer.

The strength of the land demonstrated by the divine emissary fills you with deep admiration.

Outdated Dungeon Statistics

Before the release of Bahamut Ultra, Bahamut Descended was a 10-battle dungeon. It has since been released as a 5-battle dungeon consistent with the Leviathan and Odin versions.

Trivia

In the first iteration, Bahamut has a low chance to always drop in the Bahamut Descended, and would give 1% Skill Boost after capturing him for the first time. This was removed once Bahamut Ultra was released. Bahamut will only drop a second time after you have his second job weapon, Caladcholg, or you have evolved him to his third form, and only from Bahamut Ultra. However, he will give a 3% Skill Boost upon recruitment.
