Attack of the Coin Creeps consists of five floors against 3-5 Coin Creep enemies. One of these enemies will be a Coin Gobbler. Every turn, a Power Point will spawn. If the Power Attack point remains after the player's turn, the Coin Gobbler will move to its location and devour it. The next turn, the Coin Gobbler will execute Emission Energy: Cross (All) -- a powerful 1-row and 1-column attack -- from its current location. Spike floor traps and rock barriers may also spawn in random locations for each battle. Coin Creeps low in health may attempt to flee, but have no knockback attacks, so this can be prevented by surrounding them completely.

The base reward for defeating a Coin Creep appears to be 70 coins in Hunting Zone 1 and 238 coins in Hunting Zone 2. If you are able to kill most enemies, the expected return is 1,000+ coins for Hunting Zone 1 and 4,000+ coins for Hunting Zone 2.

== Strategy ==
The optimal strategy is to focus on a single enemy each turn making sure to utilize the Power Point. In addition to finishing the enemy so that it wont run from hitting low health, you can farm skill boosts through triggering skills every turn. Pay careful attention to area attacks which your characters may have equipped as they may damage nearby Coin Creeps, causing them to flee. Coin Creeps may also flee when alone (this doesn't apply to the Coin Creep Gorger).

Strategy

Powered points appear one after another in the Hunting Zone's "Attack of the Coin Creeps." Grab them before the gorgers can gobble them up and use them to put a swift end to the coin creeps.

— In-game tip

This quest consists of five battles against 3-4 Coin Creep enemies. A Coin Gorger spawns in every battle. Every turn, a Power Point will automatically spawn regardless of your power gauge. If the Power Attack point remains after the player's turn, the Coin Gorger will attempt to move to it and devour it. While powered up, the Coin Gobbler gains heavily increased stats, and will execute Energy Emission next turn, a powerful row/column-wide attack that hits through obstacles. Other Coin Creeps can also initiate pincer attacks with the Coin Gorger, subjecting you to a similarly powerful physical attack.

In zones 2 and 3, floor traps may spawn in random locations for each battle. These traps despawn at the end of the battle, so the next battle may have a different arrangement.

A rare Golden Coin Creep worth three times the base coin value may spawn in place of a normal enemy. If the Golden Coin Creep takes any damage whatsoever or is the last enemy, it will flee. Coin Creeps and Coin Creep Mages low in health (<40% or so) may also flee. Normal Creeps have no knockback attacks, so this can be prevented by surrounding them completely. Coin Gorgers and Coin Creep Bombers will never flee.

On the last floor, a Coin Creep Fighter may spawn and is worth four times the base coin value. This mini-boss will display a "Preparing to Flee" notification, indicating how long you have to kill it.

The optimal strategy is to focus on a single enemy each turn, always triggering the Power Point. In addition to finishing the enemy so that it wont run from hitting low health, you can also farm skill boosts. Pay careful attention to area attacks your characters may have equipped since they may damage other Coin Creeps, causing them to flee.

Enemies

All enemies have Levitation, so they are unaffected by floor traps and ground attacks.

Efficiency

The coin efficiency values assume you kill every creep. There is high variance due to the variable number of creeps per floor and randomness of Golden Coin Creep spawns.

  • Zone 1: base 70 coins, total 1050-1500 coins, 10 stamina (~125 coins/stam)
  • Zone 2: base 238 coins, total 3570-5000 coins, 15 stamina (~300 coins/stam)
  • Zone 3: base 441 coins, total 6615-11000 coins, 20 stamina (~425 coins/stam)
  • Arena - Lv. 35: base 100 coins (Gorger 200 coins), total 1200-1500, 5 stamina (~270 coins/stam)

Trivia

  • As of patch 1.2.0, boulders no longer spawn in zone 3.
  • Patch 2.9.0 added Attack of the Coin Creeps as a possible event in the Arena.
  • Version 4.5.0 added "Attack of the Coin Creeps, Lv. 35" as an event in the Arena.
  • Version 5.5.0 moved all Coin Creep quests to the Huntland and discontinued the Lv. 35 event.
